I’m a Millennial Mom — And I Swear By Embellished Jeans to Elevate My Everyday Look

It's the nostalgic pant style I lean on

BERLIN, GERMANY - NOVEMBER 15: Sonia Lyson is seen wearing black rectangular sunglasses featuring wide temples with triangular logo embellishments from Prada; silver diamond-studded hoop earrings; a padded black jacket with notch lapels from Marina Hoermanseder x About You; underneath a grey t-shirt from Sézane; wide-legged straight black jeans with rhinestones pattern also from Marina Hoermanseder x About You; a crystal-embellished black leather “Cleo“ bag from Prada; and pointed black leather heels from Jimmy Choo on November 15, 2024 in Berlin, Germany. When it comes to my everyday wardrobe, I tend to stick to the same formula up top — think cami and cardigan combo on repeat. And while, as a millennial, I’m tempted to break out the chunky, statement jewelry still taking up residence in my drawer, I lean on another 2010s trend to elevate my look: a pair of embellished jeans.

It all started with a pair from White House Black Market. I became obsessed with the beaded embroidery and found myself styling the mid-rise denim with everything I own, including tank tops, sweaters and blazers. The design wasn’t overwhelming, yet it was still eye-catching. I got so many compliments when I wore them and, naturally, they became my favorite pair. Unfortunately, I’ve worn them out, so I need a replacement (or two) to take their place in my wardrobe.

Bottom line: If you’ve been searching for effortless ways to elevate your everyday aesthetic, embroidered and embellished jeans are my foolproof hack. Ahead, I’ve rounded up 13 pairs from retailers like Amazon, Walmart, Abercrombie and Free People that are guaranteed to upgrade your wardrobe.

13 Writer-Approved Embellished Jeans to Elevate Outfits

1. Pearl, Please: In case you were wondering, pearls are just as chic running down your legs as they are hanging around your neck. These straight-leg jeans are bedazzled with the oceanic gem, and they look positively rich.

2. Going Viral: ICYDK, cropped denim is trending as we head into spring and summer 2026. These Free Assembly barrel jeans feature a sweet, delicate floral design, so they’ll keep your closet relevant across seasons. They’ll also serve as an easy outfit statement for years to come.

3. Plus-Size Find: These stretchy embroidered jeans are available in sizes 12W to 32W, making them size inclusive. The pair is described as a high-rise capri, and features pops of intricate embroidered pink flowers.

4. Statement Making: The thought process behind these embellished wide-leg jeans has to be ‘go big or go home.’ We’ll stick with the former, because these statement bottoms are absolutely fabulous.

5. Personal Favorite: My favorite pair of embellished jeans features a black beaded floral arrangement along the sides. The embroidered jeans from Lucky Brand feature a similar design.

6. Best Budget: Though you might assume intricately designed denim would break the bank, these rhinestone-studded straight-leg jeans only costs $20. Yes, they’re on sale.

7. Western Winner: Cowboycore isn’t going anywhere anytime soon, and Abercrombie & Fitch is leaning into the neo-Western trend with these mid-rise, ’90s-style jeans. The studded outline is begging to be on display at a line dance.

8. Lots of Lace: While some embroidered jeans feature subtle embellishments, others aim to make an eye-catching statement. This lacy pair from Bayeas immediately captured my attention with its cropped, wide-leg style and mixed-media design, featuring panels of guipure lace and crystals.

9. Cute Cutwork: If you’re shopping for something more subtle, these high-rise, ’90s-style jeans feature cutout details that collect near the raw hem. It adds a little something extra to an otherwise classic bottom.

10. Flower Power: I’m all for bohemian-style fashion to have a resurgence, starting with Free People’s Driftwood Parker Cut-Out Jeans. They serve groovy ’60s vibes in the best way.

11. Fan Flare: Save this pair of jeans for football season, and break them out every Sunday. The embroidered NFL team logo on the back pocket will show them support long after you’ve yanked off your jersey after a rough game (I’ve been there).

12. Heart It: This sweet heart-embroidered denim pick offers an adorable alternative to the many floral designs dominating the category. I’d style this with a bodysuit and heels for date night, or a cropped tee and sneakers for running errands.

13. Quilted ‘Yes’: The pops of patchwork down the sides of these low-rise jeans from Abercrombie give them a cozy feel. I imagine the denim paired with a bikini top for an evening walk along the beach. However, I can also envision the quilted design with a cropped knit sweater for lounging in the air conditioning with a good book.
