If there’s one fashion girl staple that seems like a worthy investment, it’s a red sweater. The piece was a mainstay on our social media feeds throughout the winter (long after the holidays were over!), and while we recently wondered whether it was too late to shop one, Tina Fey proved the style works for summer, too.
In early June, the comedian, writer and producer popped up at the Tribeca Film Festival wearing a fiery polo sweater, turning the piece into a summer-friendly look with light gray trousers and eye-catching white heels. While we loved everything about her elevated, expensive-looking outfit, her bold collared top remained on our minds, tempting Us to find a similar style on Amazon.

We don’t know where Fey scored her polo, but it appears to be somewhere in the sweatshirt family rather than a heavy knit, which is why the Yucolen Long Sleeve Polo is a worthy alternative. Made from a cotton blend, this pick is lightweight and airy and, much like the star’s version, includes a collar and buttons at the top. Sizing ranges from small through XXL, and since Fey’s sweater is a bit oversized, we’d recommend sizing up to copy her laid-back-luxe look.
It’s easy to write off basics as boring, but this Amazon find is anything but. Aside from that eye-catching color, it’s something that can be worn on repeat, complementing elaborate statement pieces like printed pants or acting as the star of the show. Fey provided plenty of styling inspiration with her sleek, light-colored slacks, but we’re also imagining it worn with denim shorts and sandals for a somewhat nautical vibe, or teamed with a white maxi skirt for a patio date night. Plus, while the under-$20 price tag pretty much makes the shirt the opposite of an investment piece, it’ll still behave like one. After summer is over, this polo will look just as great with jeans, leather bottoms and fall-coded plaid skirts.
Amazon shoppers point out that the Yucolen piece is also “comfortable and cute,” even calling it the “softest” polo they’ve owned and labeling it a “daily essential.”
One reviewer, who was surprised at how “slimming” the design was, said the style looks “just plain rich” layered under a blazer, which is a bonus given the price.
“Frankly, I know I will be wearing this often!” they continued. “Seeing myself in it makes me feel confident. For that reason, the price is great, and I’ll be buying more color variations as soon as I can.”
Red sweaters have really solidified their spot as the ‘It’ girl piece of 2026, with everyone from Gigi Hadid to Victoria Beckham wearing one. Fey proved the trend is secretly seasonless and totally appropriate for summertime — although it is worth noting she’s been rocking similar styles for decades. After rediscovering her 2001 Gap campaign, in which the star wore a very similar top, we’re doubly convinced the Amazon alternative belongs in our carts. Snag it now and keep it in rotation for seasons — and years! — to come.
