RuPaul's Drag Race

Cultural sensation RuPaul’s Drag Race brings together the nation’s top drag queens as they fight for the title of America’s Next Drag Superstar. Contestants compete against one another in various challenges both on and off the runway in acting, fashion, lip-synching and beyond. RuPaul serves as host, mentor and head judge alongside a rotating panel featuring Michelle Visage, Carson Kressley, Ross Mathews, Ts Madison and other celebrity guest judges.

The series, which has garnered 27 Emmy Award wins, premiered in 2009 on Logo TV. Seasons 1 through 8 aired on the network before the show moved to VH1 for seasons 9 through 14. It moved once again for season 15, airing on MTV. Season 16 premiered in 2024.

For his success in the franchise and beyond, RuPaul holds the record as the most-decorated Black artist in TV Academy history. RuPaul’s Drag Race has inspired spinoff shows RuPaul’s Drag U, RuPaul’s Drag Race All Stars, RuPaul’s Secret Celebrity Drag Race and RuPaul’s Drag Race: Untucked, along with international versions of the original show. The series is widely credited with bringing drag to a mainstream audience.
