RuPaul’s Drag Race alum Kori King threatened to wage “war” against Blac Chyna‘s mom, Tokyo Toni, after a TikTok dispute over a comedic impression turned nasty.
“If she wants war, I’m ready,” King, 26, told Entertainment Weekly on Friday, July 31. “It’s giving old lady that yells, ‘Get off my lawn.’ All I can do is laugh!”
Drama between Toni, 56, and the drag community exploded this week when King impersonated Toni for multiple TikTok videos on Wednesday, July 29. In one clip, King dressed up as Toni and lip synced along to one of her iconic memes.
Mimicking Toni’s deadpan facial expressions, King quoted her, “People are always talking but what happens when the talk isn’t cheap? And it is what it is?”
@korithekiing People always talkingggg!! #koriking #tokyotoni #fyp
King is well known for her drag sendups of pop culture, having dressed up as the late King of Pop Michael Jackson to attend the 2025 Emmy Awards. She regularly impersonates fellow Drag Race queen Suzie Toot and even Shrek via her social media.
Toni (real name Shalana Jones-Hunter) was not at all amused by King’s homage, having blasted her in a string of social media videos this week. King shared clips of Toni’s comments via her own Instagram, revealing that fellow Drag Race stars Crystal Envy, Joella, Jewels Sparkles, Lana Ja’Rae and Suzie Toot were all tagged in Toni’s shocking clapback for defending King.
“Don’t come bring your sassy f***** ass, talking s***,” she allegedly says in one clip.
Jewels Sparkles, 24, tweeted another clip of Tokyo Toni’s tirade against the Drag Race queens where she seemingly referenced homophobic stereotypes.
“Y’all f***in’ Gumpy-ass bitches. Your mother didn’t even protect your mother-f***in’ asses,” she alleged. “You got f***ed as a boy and loved it. That’s why you’re a gay bitch now.”
On Friday, King told EW that it was “honestly disheartening, but not surprising” to see Toni allegedly firing back at her with homophobia.
“I always want to respond with positivity and humor,” Kori quipped. “Due to her, you know, her state of mind, maybe her mental state, where she’s at, maybe she just can’t find the humor in it, and takes it as negativity. I don’t know her journey. All I know is, as long as everyone else is [making jokes], I’m going to keep doing it. Also, you [allegedly] came for my sisters, so all bets are off.”
Us reached out to Toni’s representative for comment.
At least one of King’s Drag Race costars has seemingly made peace with Toni — as Lana Ja’Rae, 24, announced via Instagram on Thursday that the “the Tokyo Toni x [Drag Race] drama is over.”
She shared a message that Toni apparently sent to her, which read, “Love you ❤️❤️ Best one of all them b****[,] you look like a woman[,] the most word to that!!”
Toni is no stranger to public drama as she has memorably beefed with the Kardashians, at times. (Toni’s daughter, Blac Chyna, and her ex Rob Kardashian share 9-year-old daughter Dream Kardashian.)
Speaking exclusively to Us in 2019, Chyna (real name Angela Renée White) shared that she was working through issues in her own relationship with Toni at the time. (The two women have fallen out publicly multiple times over the years.)
“We’re still building it. Nothing happens overnight,” Chyna told Us in July 2019. “Everything is like a work in [progress], really.”
