The Late Show With Stephen Colbert
The Late Show With Stephen Colbert is the second iteration of CBS’ Late Show franchise. The late-night talk show premiered in 2015 with host Stephen Colbert after predecessor David Letterman announced his retirement.
The program often opens with short sketches starring Colbert, staff members and guests from that night before moving into guest interviews, musical performances and more. Along with celebrities, politicians and other public figures have been featured on the show, including Stephen Breyer, Donald Trump, Joe Biden, Bernie Sanders and Jeb Bush.
In June 2023, CBS announced that Colbert’s contract had been extended through 2026. The show briefly went on hiatus that winter after Colbert unexpectedly underwent surgery for a ruptured appendix.
