Aaron Rodgers is sharing new alleged details about his relationship with former NASCAR driver Danica Patrick, shedding light on their private life and how it all came to an end amid the COVID-19 pandemic.
“I dated Danica and she had just retired,” Rodgers, 42, recalled on the Thursday, September 10 episode of Cam Heyward’s “Not Just Football” podcast. “She was depressed and not fun to be around. But I didn’t leave her because I was trying to be there and be a good partner.”
He continued, “Then it was going a certain direction, obviously, there was no intimacy, there was nothing. And I’m buying a house in Malibu and she goes, ‘Do you want to buy it together?’ and I said no. She said, ‘Well you know what that means then.’ I said, ‘Yeah, that’s the way things are going.’ She said, ‘Well let’s get counseling.’”
The early months of the pandemic didn’t help their already struggling relationship, which lasted from 2018 to 2020.
“So then we got counseling and then what happened?” Rodgers continued. “Then COVID hit and we were stuck together.”
Patrick, 44, later called Rodgers “emotionally abusive” during their relationship, saying he “wore [her] down to nothing.”
“He leaves a trail of blood. I don’t think I’m saying too much earth-shattering stuff after there’s been enough out there,” Patrick claimed during a 2025 interview on “The Sage Steele Show.”
She added that she was taken by surprise when the relationship ended, saying her relationship was her “whole life.”
Us has reached out to Patrick for comment.
Rodgers addressed those comments directly on Wednesday, saying stories from his exes are “not rooted in truth at all.”
“So she tells the story that, ‘I was so blindsided by getting left by you, he leaves a trail of blood around,’” Rodgers said. “I’m like, ‘What are you talking about?’ That is not what happened by any means.”
He then repeated that there was “zero intimacy” in their relationship, adding that he was “actually a good partner.”
“But I didn’t want to buy any house with you and I didn’t see a long-term future,” he continued. “I don’t wish you any harm unless you’re throwing spells and shade my way.”
Rodgers, who has been married to his wife, Brittani, for just over a year, urged Patrick and his other exes to leave their relationships with him in the past.
“Stop talking about me,” he said. “It’s been years. What are you talking about? You’re not relevant. Stop talking about me. Move on with your life.”
