Former Duke basketball star and NBA alum Kyle Singler has again sparked concern from fans after sharing a series of videos via social media in which he called out legendary former Blue Devils head coach Mike Krzyzewski.
“Man, Coach K has set me up,” Singler, 38, said to begin the first video. “Set me up, man. I have no power. I have no house. I’ve reached out to Coach, and everybody has turned the other way.”
During each of the three videos he posted, Singler is seen pacing his home while staring down at his phone. His speech, at times, seemed slurred, and his hair was noticeably unkempt.
“I’ve reached out to Coach, and he has fully dismissed the message,” Singler continued. “You guys are cutting my power off, breaking into my house, stealing money, ruining my life. I reached out to Coach K, and all he did was sit me on the bench. Thanks, man.”
Singler played four seasons at Duke, where he was named the Final Four’s Most Outstanding Player as he led the Blue Devils to the 2010 National Championship. He then played seven seasons in the NBA, first with the Detroit Pistons, then the Oklahoma City Thunder.
“I’m out in Oklahoma, I go out walking the street, I get pulled, I get arrested, I get f***ing checked, I get kicked out of restaurants,” Singler said in the second video. “I can’t even live anymore. Can’t even say, ‘Hey, how’s it going?’ without confrontation. I’ve reached out to Coach. Again, everybody knows what’s going on. I’m living in a whole other world. Coach, I need your help, man.”
He continued, “I’m stuck at my house and I can’t leave, I feel imprisoned. Where we at? Leaving people stranded. I’ve tried to share messages about where we’re at, and back home I got people, my friends, family, devastated and gone, died, and again my life’s on the line. I got people breaking into my house, jacking money, breaking into my accounts. And you know what? Duke’s all about it. I got Duke begging for my money. Everybody’s after my money, trying to kill me. What’s going on? What’s the deal?”
His final video also called out Krzyzewski, 79, who retired in 2022 as the winningest coach in college basketball history.
“Coach, you got a former player being mistreated and abused and you ain’t doing nothing, man. Help out,” Singler said. “Coach, man, I’ve reached out to you many times and shared with you where I’m at and you’ve just been deflective. Leaving people in the dust. I don’t respect it.”
This was not the first time Singler has posted concerning videos via social media. In November 2024, he said in an Instagram video that he feared for his life.
“I have been mistreated and abused, neglected, made into a mental example,” he said at the time. “I fear for my life every day. And people in my community make me look out as if I’m going to be someone that’s going to be a problem and make things difficult for people when I’m only trying to be helpful.”
In October 2025, Singler was arrested in Oklahoma and charged with one misdemeanor count of assault and battery in the presence of a child after he allegedly grabbed his girlfriend’s head and shoved her to the ground. Singler denied assaulting her.
