Brexton Busch, the 11-year-old son of late NASCAR legend Kyle Busch, is recovering after getting into a wreck at the Cook Out Summer Shootout on Tuesday, July 21.

The young racer’s mother, Samantha Busch, posted a video of the dramatic crash via her Instagram Story on Wednesday, July 22, which happened at Charlotte Motor Speedway.

“Brex ended up wrecking out after a hard hit last night but thankfully he’s all good today,” she wrote. “He will be back on dirt tonight. Tried to tell him to take the day off and rest to which I got an 🙄.”

The multi-vehicle pile up saw Brexton collide with a car in front of him, which led to him getting hit multiple times. According to reports, Brexton had to be removed from his vehicle in a tense scene.

“It was dead silent while they were getting Brexton out of the car,” one viewer commented on FloRacing’s social media post about the crash.

Another race fan wrote, “Scary moment. We’re grateful Brexton and everyone involved are okay. 🙏🏁”

The crash came on the two-month anniversary of Kyle’s death. The motorsports icon died on May 21 after being found unresponsive in a racing simulator.

In addition to Brexton, Kyle and Samantha, 40, also share daughter Lennix, 4.

Despite the setback on Tuesday night, Brexton won his first race since his dad’s death on Saturday, July 18, at Port City Raceway in Oklahoma.

“Brexton continues to amaze me with his determination, his resilience, the way he keeps showing up to do what he loves even while carrying so much at such a young age,” Samantha shared via Instagram after the victory. “Watching him celebrate all I could think about was Kyle. There was nothing that made him happier than watching Brex race, spending the day tinkering on his car and then being the first one sprinting to Victory Lane with that huge grin on his face.”

She added, “I used to tell Kyle during all the late nights, roadtrips and chaos of long weekends at the track that one day when we were 80 we’d look back and say, ‘Those were the best days of our lives.’ I knew then and I know even more now, they really were. Congratulations, buddy. Dad would’ve been so, so proud. ❤️🏁”

In celebrating his accomplishment on social media, Brexton acknowledged the bittersweet nature of the moment.

“My first win since my dad passed,” he wrote via Instagram. “I don’t like to talk about it much, but the last two months have been really tough. I’m missing my crew [chief], my driver coach, my dad, the guy who I looked up to more [than] anyone. I know he would be proud the way I ran the top (much better than him lol) to win my first Micro A-Main at Port City. We love and miss you so much dad.💚”
