The Toronto Raptors organization just turned two courtside seats into the coolest spot in the arena — literally. When basketball fans arrived at the Toronto Raptors game on April 12, Drake’s usual spot had been transformed into a frozen spectacle, covered in faux ice and icicles that immediately turned heads inside the arena and blew up across social media platforms. The frosty stunt appeared to reference Drake’s rumored upcoming album, often referred to as Iceman, blending sports and pop culture.

Drake’s Frozen Seats Spark ‘Iceman’ Album Frenzy Among Raptors Fans

The Toronto Raptors wasted no time sharing the icy spectacle with the world, posting a video to their Instagram account that quickly had fans buzzing. Drake himself liked the post and shared an image of the frozen look on his Instagram story, sending the excitement into overdrive. The connection to his anticipated album was impossible to miss, and the comments section lit up immediately.

“Drake’s seats froze 🧊,” the caption of the Raptors’ Instagram video read. “This album’s rollout… 🔥,” one fan commented, while another wrote, “The iceman cometh…. ❄️.”

By tipoff, the frozen setup had been cleared away and the seats were left empty. The Raptors went on to defeat the Brooklyn Nets, but much of the early attention remained on the creative pregame promotion.

Drake’s ‘Iceman’ Album Teases, Singles and Hints So Far

The frozen seats are just the latest in a growing series of teases Drake has dropped for his next solo project. Last July, he confirmed the album title during his tour with PartyNextDoor, telling fans directly what they had been dying to hear.

“I’m working on my album, Iceman,” he told those in attendance. “We got a lot to talk about. So, I’m looking forward to it.”

Drake also teased the album during an Australian tour stop in 2025. “Eventually, when the time is right, Drizzy Drake alone by himself is gonna have to have a one-on-one talk to y’all,” he told the audience. “When the time is right, I’ll be back with another album—a one-on-one conversation with y’all that you need to hear.”

On March 29, Drake spoke about the album again when he inducted Nelly Furtado into the Canadian Music Hall of Fame at the 2026 Juno Awards. “Nels, I love you,” Drake said. “Have a great night. Enjoy your Hall of Fame status. It’s long overdue. Kill the performance. We love you, dawg. Iceman coming soon.”

The rollout has since included the Iceman YouTube series and multiple singles, including “Which One” featuring Central Cee, “What Did I Miss” and “Dog House” featuring Yeat and Julia Fox. Several Drake affiliates also changed their social media profile pictures to the same picture of a large diamond.

Inside Drake and the Toronto Raptors’ Decade-Long Partnership

The frozen seats also spotlighted Drake’s deep history with the franchise — a relationship that stretches back more than a decade. Drake has had a formal relationship with the Toronto Raptors since 2013, when he was named the team’s global ambassador. The position was created as part of the organization’s strategy to connect the team with Toronto’s cultural identity and expand its global reach.

“Today’s probably one of the best days of my life,” Drake said at the time of his appointment, according to ESPN.

His involvement has extended far beyond sitting courtside. In March 2016, Drake appeared on the cover of Slam Magazine alongside DeMar DeRozan and Kyle Lowry. Beginning in 2015, Toronto introduced a black-and-gold color scheme inspired by his October’s Very Own brand, although it wasn’t included this season. The team hosted a “Drake Night” in 2016, and the practice facility was named the OVO Athletic Centre. During the team’s 2019 championship run, Drake said, “We did this off of heart … we willed this into existence,” according to Pitchfork.
