Looking sharp, Peter Parker! Andrew Garfield showed off a new buzz cut while promoting The Amazing Spider-Man 2 in Mountain View, Calif., alongside costar and real-life girlfriend Emma Stone on Monday, April 21.
The British actor, 30, looked swoon-worthy with the new short hairstyle, but that didn't stop Stone, 25, from putting him in his place. During a Q&A with young fans, the Crazy, Stupid, Love actress interrupted her beau after he made a comment about feminism.
"How did Spider-Man get his costume?" a little boy asked the star (via Yahoo). Garfield replied: "He made it. He made it with his bare hands. He sewed it. He took some sewing classes and some needlepoint classes. It's kind of a feminine thing to do, but he really made a very masculine costume out of a very feminine."
Stone butted in, "It's feminine how?" With a slight pause, Garfield then defended himself: "It's amazing how you took that as an insult — It's feminine because I would say that femininity is about more delicacy and precision and detail work and craftsmanship."
"Like my mother, she's an amazing craftsman," he added. "She in fact made my first Spider-Man costume when I was 3, so I use it as a compliment. To compliment the feminine not just in women, but in men as well. We all have feminine in us."
Garfield clearly redeemed himself, and even got a little giggle from his love Stone in the process.
