Anna Wintour sat in the second row at the Valentino show on March 4 during Paris Fashion Week. (Insert audible gasp here.)
Wall Street Journal fashion columnist Christina Binkley captured the humbling moment and shared it on Instagram, writing, "Anna Wintour is sitting second row at Valentino."
Before you get your Prada in a wad, Wintour, who was recently slammed by Giorgio Armani for skipping his womenswear show during Milan Fashion Week, apparently opted out of the front row, which was too crowded. "She moved there to have more room," Binkley tweeted. Instead her colleagues, Vogue's creative director Grace Coddington, fashion director Tonne Goodman, and Sarah Mower, who is reviewing the show for Vogue.com, got the prime view.
Fashionista.com reported that seats for American publications at the Valentino show were drastically cut this season, which made for the tight fit.
