Two heads are better than one! Perhaps that’s why the likes of Kate Winslet, Taylor Swift and Jennifer Lopez choose Badgley Mischka, founded by designers Mark Badgley and James Mischka. The duo take Us inside their Manhattan showroom in today’s Red Carpet Daily, presented by DirectTV.
Ever since the brand launched in 1988, Badgley Mischka has defined red carpet glamour. Badgley Mischka is “synonymous with Old Hollywood,” Mischka tells Stylish. “Very dramatic, a little bit sexy and naughty.” Need proof? Lopez loves their aesthetic so much that she wore their designs to the Oscars four times! And on the season finale of The Bachelorette in August 2016, Jojo Fletcher wore the label’s blush web lace silk runway evening gown to accept Jordan Rodger’s romantic proposal.
In fact, those are what inspired the Spring 2017 collection chock-full of plunging necklines and glittering embellishments from flea markets. “James and I collect vintage jewelry, and we literally reproduce these brooches,” Badgley reveals.
And surprisingly, the married couple of three years are still able to work together in perfect harmony. “We’ve been very fortunate to where we can be in two places at once,” Badgley continues. “We have each other to bounce off of. It’s a true collaboration.”
