Red carpet perfection! The Weeknd brought his best good luck charm to the 2016 Grammy Awards on Monday, February 15: his girlfriend, Bella Hadid. The pair made a rare red carpet appearance together at the Staples Center in Los Angeles.
The model, 19, looked stunning next to her love of 9 months, whose real name is Abel Makkonen Tesfaye. Hadid wore a revealing black Alexandre Vauthier Haute Couture gown, covered in embroidered crystals with a plunging V-neck with a sexy slits in the front, and Alexander Wang shoes.
Hadid’s long brunette locks were parted in the middle and slicked down. “We knew we wanted to go chic and sleek,” Dove celebrity hairstylist Mark Townsend told Us Weekly. “We decided to keep her hair off of her face, and go for a bone-straight moment with tons of shine.” After blow drying, Townsend went through her strands with the ghd Platinum Styler flat iron. To lock down any fly-away hairs, he coated a mascara wand with Dove Style+Care Strength & Shine Extra Hold Hairspray and brushed it through her hair, then repeated the process with Oribe Rock Hard Gel.
The “Can’t Feel My Face” singer, 25, has been nominated for seven Grammys, and by the time he walked the carpet, had already won two for Best Urban Contemporary Album and Best R&B Performance.
He is also set to perform at the live show. The evening marks the end to a successful year promoting his album Beauty Behind the Madness, which has earned him two American Music Awards, one BET Award and one People’s Choice Award.
