Bindi Irwin is all grown up! But it’s not just her adult appearance that she was showing off with her recent Instagram photo — the caption proves she’s maturing into a beautiful woman on the inside too.
While it’s hard to believe that Steve Irwin‘s little girl is about to turn 17, it’s evident from the very grown-up caption that accompanied her stunning new photograph, that the teenage animal lover is growing into a young lady the late Crocodile Hunter would be totally proud of.
“To be beautiful means to be yourself. You don’t need to be accepted by others. You need to accept yourself,” Bindi wrote as she shared the photo of herself, smiling, wearing eye makeup and lipstick. She then added a favorite quote of hers: “‘What you do, the way you think, makes you beautiful.’ – S. Westerfeld” she wrote.
Bindi, who has inherited her dad’s love of wildlife and conservation, was just 8 years old when her famous father tragically died in 2006. But despite having to deal with such a huge loss early on in her life, the Return to Nim’s Island actress has grown up with a very sensible head on her young shoulders.
Talking last year, the Australian teenager urged fellow celebrities to cover up and stop showing too much skin.
“I’m a big advocate for young girls dressing their age,” Irwin told News Corp Australia at the time. “I mean, for me, I look around at a lot of young girls that are my age and they’re always trying to dress older. Whether it’s wearing revealing clothes or hardly wearing any clothes at all, I feel really bad for them. It kind of has the opposite effect in some ways — it kind of does the opposite where it makes you look younger and like you’re trying too hard,” she said.
