They say imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, so the Kardashian-Jenner clan should consider it a high compliment that Busy Philipps did her best Kim Kardashian and Kylie Jenner impersonation, while Selma Blair reprised her role as Kris Jenner (she played the momager on the small screen in The People V. O.J. Simpson: American Crime Story back in 2016) for a skit on the former Dawson’s Creek star’s late night show Busy Tonight that aired Sunday, December 9.
Celebrating the season finale of Keeping Up With the Kardashians, which wrapped right before her show on E!, Philipps welcomed the the KKW Beauty founder as her guest. In the days leading up to the sit-down, the host had been posting pics on social media of herself dressed up as the beauty magnate to tease the appearance.
“Face tape, a blonde wig and a monochromatic outfit turned @BusyPhilipps into a Kardashian for a day,” the Busy Tonight Instagram account wrote alongside a pic of Philipps posing in an ab-baring neutral athleisure set, PVC heels and a waist-grazing platinum wig (a.k.a. just your average Wednesday for the reality star).
As it turns out, the #twinning ensemble was for a skit that aired during the Sunday night episode of Philipps’ show, and she was joined by Blair and Kelly Oxford to portray the entire reality TV fam. Check it out below:
The real Kim Kardashian narrated the clip, in which Philipps is distraught to learn she didn’t receive one of the epic heart-shaped chocolate boxes the KKW Fragrance founder sent out around Valentine’s Day to celebrate the launch of her Kimoji Hearts perfumes.
Providing a dramatic depiction of the events, Philipps played Kardashian and her sister Kylie (she swapped her mile-long icy wig for a raven-hued lob to portray the youngest member of the clan) in the skit. Blair, meanwhile, rocked her best shaggy pixie and kohl-rimmed eyes as family matriarch Kris, and Oxford showed off her sky-high cheekbones as jet-setting model Kendall.
And if the hilarious video wasn’t enough, Kardashian also admitted during the show that she often breaks the cardinal rule of skincare (i.e. thou shall always take off your makeup before bed) in an effort to maintain the work of her glam squad. When Philipps asked if she’s ever “accidentally slept with her makeup on,” the mom of three admitted she does “all the time.”
“Like, even if it can’t have glam the next day, I’ll like sleep, like, perfectly and maybe I’ll re-do my skin,” she said. “But I try to, like, salvage it for two days.”
While skipping your nightly cleanser is not exactly advisable, we can’t say we’re surprised Mrs. Kanye West has found a way to keep her makeup #flawless.
