Charli XCX is the face of Make Up For Ever’s newest launch, the Aqua XL Eye Pencil, the beauty brand announced on March 30. Aqua XL is an update on one of Make Up For Ever’s bestselling products, the Aqua Eyes Waterproof Eyeliner Pencil, which is loved by singers and artists for its ability to last throughout vigorous stage performances. The new and improved version works for onstage and off-stage beauties alike — especially for hot summer afternoons, dips in the pool, and days that take you from work to werking it at happy hour.

Launching in May, the pencils come in 20 different hues including blues and pastels. They’re offered in five finishes: Matte, Iridescent, Metallic, Satin and Diamond. For supersmooth application, Make Up For Ever updated the pencil’s formula with emollient oils and mango butter.

“The whole spirit of Make Up For Ever is so bold and really has that attitude that I feel like is so integral to everything that I do,” Charli XCX revealed to WWD. “Sometimes I’ll want to put on a full face of makeup, like a bold, loud exaggerated look, and other times I’ll want to keep it really simple [and] slicked-back.”

For Make Up For Ever, it’s a color-match made in heaven. Laure de Metz, the U.S. general manager for Make Up For Ever told WWD that Charli is “young, she loves to experiment, she loves to have fun [and] she’s not scared or frightened by color.”
