The single life looks good on her! On Tuesday, July 21, Charlize Theron made her first red carpet appearance—at the L.A. premiere of Dark Places—since splitting with Sean Penn this past June. And of course, the South African beauty turned heads in her flirty ensemble!
The Oscar-winning actress, 39, donned a tiered, pleated, pink and yellow minidress by Christian Dior, which she teamed with a blush clutch and cross-strap sandals in a natural leather hue. Giant diamond studs and a dazzling cocktail ring, both by Harry Winston, completed the look.
Meanwhile, Theron’s beauty choices were equally swoon-worthy and ultra-femme. The blonde stunner, who is a mother to 3-year-old Jackson, modeled rosy cheeks and a pearly pink lip (Dior Rouge Baume in “Kew Gardens”), not to mention a lovely crown braid hairstyle, putting her famous cheekbones on full display.

Of course, Theron wasn’t just there to stun. The actress was on hand to promote the film, the latest of Gone Girl author Gillian Flynn‘s books to be adapted for the big screen, and she dished to Us Weekly just why she wanted to make this movie. “When I can’t stop thinking about [a script], I usually take that as a really good sign,” Theron said. “It’s that moment when you put the script down and it just stays with you—you can’t forget it.”

Not to mention the chance to be able to work with the famed author. “Gillian came out to the set to visit. I just really dig her! She’s just a really ballsy writer,” Theron (who also stopped to pose with costar Christina Hendricks) told Us. “It’s just so great to have a woman write women like her.”
