Short and sweet! Claire Danes tried out a bold new look at the 2013 Emmy Awards on Sunday, Sept. 22 — a chic, chin-length bob that showed off the Homeland star's toned shoulders and gorgeously made-up face.
The short and stylish 'do was just temporary, though. As Danes revealed to E! News' Ryan Seacrest and longtime pal Lena Dunham, her normally long blonde locks were simply pinned up to look like they'd been cut.
The Best Actress nominee — who has already won two Emmys, for Homeland and Temple Grandin — paired her new hair with an ethereal nude Armani Prive gown. The daring frock featured a plunging neckline, sequined bodice, and lace skirt.
Danes, married to actor Hugh Dancy since 2009, recently opened up to Us Weekly about going back to work after the December 2012 birth of her son, Cyrus. "I was in my cozy mommy bubble. I was anxious about returning to work. I had all sorts of exaggerated fears, I think the biggest one being, 'Oh god, will I ever want to work again?'" she told Us.
"And in fact, I do, and it's been great," she said. "But the material is very, very dark and it's so nice to come home and be jarred out of that state by this buoyant butterball."
