Most people need a coveted invitation to the Metropolitan Museum of Art’s Costume Institute Gala, but thanks to Cynthia Rowley‘s hidden GoPro camera, Us Weekly has a look into fashion’s biggest night!
The famed designer, 55, hid the tiny camera in her jeweled minaudière handbag, which she cut a peephole in to let the lens capture the A-Listers on the carpet and inside the Met Gala.
Stars like Michelle Williams and Donatella Versace were spotted on the hidden camera, and it even captured Lena Dunham walking around barefoot!
Naturally, Rowley wore her own designs for the big event in a stunning white tiered gown with Forevermark and Sasha Primak jewels.
“I wanted to do an homage to Charles James and put my own twist on it,” Rowley told Us. “Naturally, we started with duchess satin that we had printed and cut into strips that were then hand-fringed. The silhouette is classic and dramatic: the perfect juxtaposition to the fringe.”
