A brand new shade! Dakota Johnson swapped her dark brown hair for blonde locks, falling in line with stars like Ariana Grande and Emma Stone. The Fifty Shades actress, 26, showed off her dye job while leaving a hair salon in West Hollywood on Friday, July 22.
After returning to the States from Paris, where she shot the 50 Shades sequels, Johnson immediately added honey blonde highlights that streaked her light brown hair. She still kept her blunt eye-skimming bangs and wore her glossy strands stick straight. The actress, who plays Fifty Shades’ Anastasia Steele to Jamie Dornan’s Christian Grey, dyed her hair dark brown in October 2013 after her role was announced.
Johnson has a tendency to go back to the light side in between filming. In September 2014, once Fifty Shades of Grey wrapped, she revealed a head full of platinum blonde hair at Stella McCartney’s Green Carpet Collection event during London Fashion Week.
Before she went blonde this time around, Johnson enjoyed her last few moments as a dark-haired gal on Instagram. She snapped a seemingly innocent Thursday, July 21, selfie with a cheeky caption. “I’ll have an order of Identity Crisis with a side of What’s My Hand Doing, #please,” she wrote.
While filming in Paris, Johnson’s alter ego embraced the stylish city’s unspoken dress code in a series of stunning looks. On July 18, during a kissing scene with Dornan, she rocked a burgundy Elie Saab midi dress with macramé lace detailing. Matching sandals and a pair of trendy cat-eye glasses completed her ensemble. She also killed the street-style game in a dark denim crop top with matching culottes and Gucci loafers, as well as a boldly printed, pink and purple dress with Robert Clergerie platform sandals.
