Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson is here with the training sneaker you didn’t know you needed.
Today, June 27, the 47-year-old finally dropped his PR2 performance shoe under his Project Rock collection with Under Armour.
Not only does the bright orange kick look cool but it features new technology that makes working out easier and more comfortable — and who could ask for more?
Developed with Under Armour’s HOVR technology, the trainer has a zero gravity feel as well as an energy return that’s ideal for any springy takeoffs. Not to mention, the super flexible material bends and moves when you do so not to interfere, while the heel keeps your foot locked in place so you never have to worry about slipping out of them.
The launch wasn’t a total surprise. After all the Jumanji star had been teasing it since last December when he posted a sneak peek on Instagram. “Puttin’ these bad ass prototype shoes to the test on LEG DAY,” he wrote a caption accompanying a photo of him wearing a black version of the shoe while at the gym. “As always, our goal is to make the best training shoes/gear you’ll ever use. Thank you for consistently making my shoes and gear.”
In another post, on June 23, the actor shot a mirror selfie at the gym showing off the orange style. “I designed these shoes for my intense workouts,” he wrote in the caption. “Now they’re ready for yours. And now I’m ready to waddle outta the gym cuz my legs are like f—ing jello.”
Besides The Rock himself, there are already other A-list fans that love the shoe, including Olympic gold medalist Lindsey Vonn. On June 14, the skier posted a video of herself working out to Instagram. And what did she pair her white tank and black leggings with? None other than the PR2 sneaker.
