When it comes to sexy makeup, few people do it like Emily Ratajkowski. The model-turned-actress is the queen of the subtle feline flick, glowing skin and bitten lips and a light I’ve-been-up-to-no-good-wink-wink flush. But the models hairstylist Jennifer Yepez posted some behind-the-scenes shots of EmRata getting her Halloween glam on, and her upgraded cat eye is a total showstopper.
Now the look, which complements some seriously voluminous bouncy waves and clip-in bangs swept to the side, entirely hinges upon Ratajkowski’s eyeliner. While the activist normally wears her peepers rimmed lightly in liner with the teeniest flick at the outer corner, celebrity makeup artist Hung Vanngo upgraded the aesthetic by going full-on late ‘60s, early ‘70s bombshell with her eyeliner. First, Vanngo rimmed EmRata’s upper lashes with a matte inky black liner fairly thickly, creating a more exaggerated but still classic feline gaze.
But to ensure that Ratajkowski’s honey brown eyes were even more accentuated, he also lightly rimmed her waterline on the upper and lower lash line with the same liner. This, of course, makes the whites look brighter and connects the upper and lower lashes for an ultra-sexy and elongated eye shape. And for just a touch of cool factor, Vanngo blended just a smidge of the lower waterline liner underneath Ratajkowski’s lashes.
Some key points: this look is all about the eyeliner, so Vanngo kept the eyeshadow neutral and pared down. However, he also added balance to the look by dabbing EmRata’s notoriously full pout with a nudey-brown lipstick and a corresponding mocha lip liner for maximum fullness.
The finishing touch was a quick dusting of bronzer along the nose and cheekbones and she was off to set hearts racing.
