Emma Stone’s 2012 Oscar Dress: Love It or Hate It?

Many hoped Emma Stone and Andrew Garfield would make their red carpet debut as a couple at Sunday's 84th Annual Academy Awards, but The Help star flew solo as she mingled with Hollywood's elite.

The starlet, 23, wore a Giambattista Valli dress that evoked memories of Nicole Kidman in Balenciaga at the 2008 Academy Awards. Stone accessorized with jewelry by Louis Vuitton, including a bracelet that looked like "a chain-link fence," she laughed.

The Help is nominated for best motion picture, and her costars Viola Davis, 46, Octavia Spencer, 41, and Jessica Chastain, 30, are each up for individual awards. Stone joked to E! news that while shooting the film, "there was a lot of bourbon on set, and a little bit of moonshine, too."

The tight-knit Help cast also drank "milk punch" in between takes, which Stone described as "condensed milk mixed with bourbon and some cinnamon."

"You drink it at 10:00 in the morning," Stone joked. "It hurts by 5:00 in the afternoon."
