Top that, Lady Gaga. Model Erin Wasson set the bar high for most shocking VMAs outfit when she showed up at the Barclays Center in Brooklyn, N.Y., on Sunday, Aug. 25, in a barely-there dress that left little — if anything — to the imagination.
The 31-year-old Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter actress turned heads in a completely sheer sheath, which she wore over a bandeau bikini top and matching bottoms. She accessorized the risque ensemble with a black turban and sky-high open-toed heels.
The MTV Video Music Awards have always been a hotspot for unusual fashion. Three years ago, in 2010, Lady Gaga showed up at the annual event in a dress made entirely of raw meat. Time magazine called it the top fashion statement of the year.
Other memorable outfits include Rose McGowan‘s butt-baring chain-mail “dress” in 1998, Lil Kim‘s purple nipple cover and matching jumpsuit in 1999, and Christina Aguilera‘s cleavage sling in 2002.
