Fifty Shades of Grey is the series that launched a thousand fantasies — and since landing the actual Christian Grey (Jamie Dornan) is a no-go, you can at least fake a “just kissed by Christian Grey” flush with the help of two new makeup collections.
After using Make Up For Ever products while on set, Victoria Down, makeup department head of Fifty Shades of Grey, worked with the beauty brand to create kits that mimic Anastasia Steele’s (Dakota Johnson), ahem, glow from the film.
“Ana’s lip look was the makeup focus of the entire movie,” Down tells Us. “Focusing on the lips helped to create the sultry intrigue and establish her character as the one who drove Christian Grey crazy.”
To deliver the same just-kissed look, the Tease Me sets ($32, Sephora.com), in nude or berry, include a smudge-proof lip liner, long-wearing lip gloss, and a shimmering gloss.
“To create Ana’s healthy glow, I used a darker pink blush, which I blended out across the apples of the cheeks, on the nose, and a little on the chin and hairline,” Down tells Us. “It gave the appearance of a healthy flush from under the skin and not like an applied blush.”
For the same effect, the Desire Me set ($49, Sephora.com) includes the Artist Shadow Cheek Trio Blush Palette and a travel-sized version of the Artisan Powder Brush 150.
