Let it go? Never! Alfred Angelo presented the latest Disney Fairy Tale Weddings Bridal Collection in NYC on Wednesday, Oct. 7, and you know it included a dress inspired by Frozen‘s Queen Elsa!
Putting a fresh twist on last year’s baby blue “Elsa” dress—a near-match to the one the ice queen wears in Disney’s blockbuster film—Alfred Angelo served up a second “Elsa” gown, this one with a fitted bodice embellished with crystals, beading, rhinestones, and sequins. It also boasted a draped skirt, not to mention tip-of-the-shoulder straps, sheer sleeves, and a chapel-length Watteau train (to mimic Elsa’s epic cape).
The model who sported the dress down the runway even worked a braided updo, just like the animated royal would!
“The Watteau train is iconic to Elsa, who is a very regal princess,” Alfred Angelo designer Marian Woolley tells Us Weekly. That said, Woolley’s proud to note that the design is being offered with and without the train “to give Disney brides the option to make this gown suit their personality, as well as their choice of venue,” she shared.
Of course, Elsa isn’t the only Disney princess (err, queen) to get the bridal treatment. The fashion house, which has been making wedding dresses for 80 years strong, also presented looks inspired by Snow White, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, Beauty and the Beast‘s Belle, The Little Mermaid‘s Ariel, Tangled‘s Rapunzel, The Princess and the Frog‘s Tiana, and last but not least, Aladdin‘s Jasmine.
While each dress, topped with gold accents this season, would make a lovely choice for the Disney-loving bride, Jasmine’s mermaid-style stunner was a special treat, as it was modeled by Courtney Reed, who plays Jasmine in the Broadway adaptation of the hit film. Even more fitting, the runway show took place on the stage inside the New Amsterdam Theatre, where the musical is performed.
