Maisie Williams Is Getting a Major Makeover on Game of Thrones: See Arya’s New Feminine Style!

Maisie Williams' Arya Stark gets a fresh, feminine makeover in the fifth season of Game of Thrones.

Spring may be here, but winter is coming! And with it, a makeover for Game of Thrones‘ fan-favorite character, Arya.

The badass Stark daughter has been played by actress Maisie Williams since the hit HBO series’ very first season, filmed in 2010 when she was just 13 years old. Now, five years later, the brunette spitfire is all-grown-up and rocking a bold new look.

After pretending to be a boy to survive the harsh world of Westeros for three seasons, Arya escaped at the end of season 4 and is traveling incognito in Braavos wearing a fresh, feminine ensemble: a laceup-shirt tucked into a pleated teal skirt, teamed with woven shrug and fingerless gloves.

“It’s very neutral, very plain, but clean! I have clean hair that actually moves,” Williams, 18, told Entertainment Weekly in the new issue, on stands now. “I came onto the set and nobody recognized me.”

Williams equally transforms every time she steps out onto the red carpet. At her most recent appearance, the 65th Berlin Film Festival last month, the British beauty debuted her most sophisticated look to date: a short white dress with a semi-sheer top, teamed with bright yellow accessories. Williams was also a revelation at the 2015 SAG Awards in January, where she modeled a scarlet, floral dress with a romantic updo.

Perhaps her sweet red carpet style is taking cues from Arya’s life, too, which, Williams says, is about to reveal a softer side to the sword-wielding teen. “There’s actually a scene in the coming season… which was my most difficult scene to film,” the actress revealed in a recent Reddit AMA. “And I think fans are going to be really excited about it. More emotional than we’ve seen Arya in previous seasons.”

Games of Thrones‘ fifth season premieres on HBO on April 12.
