O., Jackie! Gerard Darel may be French, but he's clearly in love with an American fashion icon: Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. The former first lady is the inspiration behind the designer's new capsule collection.
The "In the Skin of an Icon" collection is inspired by the late Kennedy Onassis' post–White House era street style, which included trench coats, striped tees and oversized sunglasses. There are high-waisted sailor pants, draped white blouses and even a tee that reads "Jackie" in retro bubble script.
The 26-piece capsule is already available in the U.S. online at gerarddarel.com, and ranges in price from $51 to $564.
The collection has been launched just in time for the "Her Name Was Jackie" exhibition in Nice, France, which will run until the end of May.
Gerard Darel has quite the celebrity following, especially when it comes to handbags. Jessica Alba, Angelina Jolie, Sarah Jessica Parker and Eva Longoria, just to name a few, have all toted his slouchy purses.
