Now that’s buzz-worthy! Gisele Bundchen’s ad campaign for Balenciaga’s fall 2014 line is sure to turn heads — but not because of the designer label’s clothes.
For the edgy new shots, the Brazilian model shaved off her famous, wavy hair into a buzz cut.
“So fun to transform for the new @balenciaga by @alwxanderwang shoot by @skstudly,” Bundchen tweeted on Monday, June 30, with one of the images from the campaign.
The decision to cut off the former Victoria’s Secret Angel’s hair was definitely thought out. “This is how I see Gisele for Balenciaga; strong, powerful, mysterious and uncompromising,” Balenciaga’s artistic director Alexander Wang told Women’s Wear Daily of the campaign. “This season we worked with this idea of vanity, staged in a room filled with mirrors. But the cracked mirror is a continuing thread from the marble veins and creeping ivy leaves from seasons past.”
Balenciaga’s official Twitter handle shared five of the campaign’s black and white images online. In the shots the mother of two slams her fist into a cracked mirror and poses next to the shattered remnants.
Tom Brady’s wife has even more defined cheekbones with her new cut, which is shaved on the sides and slicked to side at the top.
