The Texas couple shared with Us Weekly that one of their favorite ways to deck the halls is to start pruning. That’s right — grab some fresh evergreen tree sprigs from your backyard or even the store — and place strategically.

“[Greenery] goes a long way. It actually lasts the whole month of December,” Joanna tells Us. “Tuck them in around the mantel, even in light fixtures. Having a bunch of greenery makes it feel more Christmasy.”
