Short hair, endless possibilities! While attending the ninth annual Veuve Clicquot Polo Classic on Saturday, June 4, in Jersey City, New Jersey, Jaimie Alexander proved that despite its cropped length, a pixie hairstyle can be quite the versatile ‘do.

The Blindspot actress, 32, styled her pixie teased at the top with teeny braided accents on each side. “I wanted to give Jaimie a very ‘Warrior Hellen of Troy’ style to complement her beautiful, flowy [romper and skirt combo by Haney],” Kérastase consulting hairstylist Matt Fugate tells Us. “We decided to add two micro braids to help secure the hair down during the windy day and give this battle-like look.”

To create the style, Fugate first prepped Alexander’s tresses with Kérastase Nutritive Bain and Fondant Magistral. He then added the brand’s L’incroyable Blowdry on her damp hair, and blow-dried the product in.

After that, the hairstylist, who also works with Karlie Kloss and Lena Dunham, plaited two very fine hairline braids above the Thor actress’ ears, which he secured with pins. He spritzed VIP Volume in Powder throughout the rest of the hair to give it body and lift, then curled it in different sections for a tousled look.

Fugate rolled the top portion of her hair toward the center of her head, creating a fauxhawk. He sprayed Fix Fabulous on the braids and blow-dried them. He finished with a generous spritz of Laque Noire to hold the entire look in place.
