She’s a red hot, redhead!

Jena Malone debuted her fiery new hair color at the Inherent Vice premiere at the New York Film Festival on Saturday, Oct.  4. The Hunger Games actress, 29, dedicated to the new hair color by dyeing her eyebrows the same shade. The new look makes her green eyes pop, and warms up her skin tone.

Malone, in an eye-catching Valentino dress, wore her hair in an elaborate braided hairstyle, styled by Bobby Eliot of TMG-LA. "After I parted the hair in the center, I sprayed a generous amount of Oribe Dry Texturizing Spray to allow lots of control," Eliot tells Us Weekly. He Dutch braided (reverse French braiding) both sides, then cris-crossed them and pinned the ends under. "To polish and finish the look, I applied Oribe Smooth Style Serum to my hands and slightly pulled out the braid to give it a little more texture and shine," he says.

On Friday, Oct. 3, Malone posted a photo lying upside down with her newly dyed red strands filling up most of the frame. “Drastic times call for drastic measures,” she captured the picture.

Malone has tried a host of different hair colors from jet black to honey blonde. In 2013, she divulged to Vogue magazine that her natural hair color is a light brown, though she rarely ever wears it in its original hue.
