Self-proclaimed hippie Jennifer Beals knows the power of a reusable bag.
“My stuff used to be in a Ziploc,” admits the star of NBC’s The Night Shift (Wednesdays, 10 p.m.). “Now I have a wallet — a big step!” Beals, 52, who lives in Canada with her husband, entrepreneur Ken Dixon, spills her boho blue Tod’s tote for Us Weekly.
A Crown Jewel
“My roommate from college [Jessica Tact] and I went antiquing and found a crown charm. My hand will touch it, and I know what it is without seeing it. It puts a smile on my face because I remember our friendship.”
“My passport cover holds my Canadian resident card. It’s shiny, so when you pull it out you say, ‘Oh, isn’t this pretty!’”
“To make sure I get enough vitamin D, I keep drops in my purse. You’d have to stay in the sun half-naked and live in Hawaii to get enough vitamin D from the sun.”
“I have an emery board because it’s aggravating when a nail breaks and you’ve got it hanging out.”
Clean as a Whistle
“Lavender wipes come in handy when you’re riding on the subway and realize that all of a sudden, you’re pretty grimy. I use them on my hands and the back of my neck.”
