Natural beauty with a bold accent was the running theme. From Jennifer Lopez’s punchy red lip to Elizabeth Banks’ sweet under-braid — here are the top five best beauty moments of the night.

Best Red Lip: Jennifer Lopez

We were so enthralled with all that booty that we almost missed Jennifer Lopez‘s killer red lip — almost. During her riveting finale performance with Iggy Azalea, the singer, 45, paired her sopping-wet tresses with a red plunging bodysuit, and an equally bright lip color.

Best Side Swept Hairstyle: Elizabeth Banks

Elizabeth Banks AMAs — Elizabeth Banks kept it edgy with a stylish under-braid on the red carpet.

The side-swept hairstyle can get old fast, but Elizabeth Banks kept everyone on their toes with a bold accent. In perhaps a nod to Katniss’ iconic braid, The Hunger Games: Mockingjay – Part 1 star, 40, wore two medium-sized braids along the nape of her neck, in an edgy undercut fashion.

“The dress was very vibrant and playful, so we thought it would be great to give the over-the-shoulder side part a modern update with the braids,” celebrity hairstylist Adir Abergel tell Us Weekly.

Best Dark Lip: Lucy Hale

Before getting to her lip, can we discuss Lucy Hale‘s constantly evolving bob? The Pretty Little Liars star, 25, went shorter since her last red carpet jaunt. “We played up Lucy’s new textured blunt bob haircut with a rich dark lip,” celebrity makeup artist Kelsey Deenihan tell Us. Hale’s deep plum fall lip gave her demure red carpet look some edge.

Best Skin: Kendall Jenner

Kendall Jenner looked radiant on the red carpet, and we wouldn’t expect any less from the new Estee Lauder spokesmodel. The budding model and Keeping Up With the Kardashians star, 19, kept her hair pulled off her face, to showcase her flawless skin.

Best Comeback: Fergie

Fergie served up a full bag of beauty tricks on the red carpet. The singer and mom of one, 39, rocked from head to toe with her perfectly styled blonde waves, even skin, and a glossy nude lip. Another highlight? The “L.A. Love” singer’s clear stiletto nail manicure was a moment within itself.
