Beauty hurts.
Kim, Kourtney and Khloe Kardashian are being sued by Hillair Capital Management in a multi-million dollar lawsuit for not promoting their Kardashian Beauty line.
Hillair, the investment firm filing for breach of contract, fraud and deceit, negligent misrepresentation and more, claims to have salvaged “their struggling Kardashian Beauty makeup line after former distributor, Boldface, went belly up amidst legal and financial troubles” by pouring $10 million into the project according to Radar.
In return, the sisters were required to promote the line on their Twitter, Instagram and Facebook accounts — accounts that amass over 250 million followers combined. But Hillair claims in the suit that the Kardashians sought a better deal with different investors who could offer more money. Plus, the docs allege that they didn’t stand by the products, which include Lip Pumping Shimmer Gloss and Intimate Spotlight highlighter. The court documents also detail an instance where Khloe, 31, allegedly screamed that she “hated everything about the Kardashian Beauty products” during a promotional trip to Dubai.
The outspoken sisters have yet to respond, but Kim’s attorney had plenty to say.
“The Kardashians have suffered enormous damages as a result of the many failures and breaches created by the operator’s mismanagement of the company,” Michael Kump said in a statement to Entertainment Tonight. “The lawsuit is a disgrace. It is a jumble of false accusations which will be exposed as lies.”
