Back for a wonderful cause. After more than a month out of the spotlight, Kim Kardashian is expected to make her return to the red carpet on Monday, November 21, at the annual Angel Ball in NYC, a source confirms to Us Weekly.
The Keeping Up With the Kardashians star, 36, has long supported Gabrielle’s Angel Foundation for Cancer Research, which hosts the event. But this year, she has a very special reason to attend the ball: Her father, the late Robert Kardashian, is being honored.
“She wants to get back out there. It’s time,” an insider tells Us. “She’s just rewiring everything because she’s been out of it for so long now, not traveling or working.” The source adds, “the Angel Foundation is really important to Kim.”
Still, it wasn’t always certain that Kim would make it to the big event. A source told Us that while the Dash cofounder, who shares two children with husband Kanye West, was on the original list of attendees, she was removed at the end of October. (A rep confirmed the news.)
The Kimoji creator has been almost entirely off the grid since being robbed at gunpoint in Paris at the beginning of October. However, she did make one social appearance — social media, that is — at the start of November. She and her daughter, North, 3, dressed up as Jasmine for Halloween, and Kim’s brother, Rob Kardashian, shared the pics via his Instagram account.
But with new security measures in place, brought on at West’s demand, Kim seems ready to step back out. “A team of security experts goes through her day-to-day life to assess potential threats and vulnerabilities,” a source close to the family tells Us. “She’s taking a driver and using all different cars to throw off people tracking her.”
