Their Vogue cover line calls them the "World's Most Talked About Couple" — so let the talking begin! Kim Kardashian and Kanye West took the fashion industry by storm on Friday, March 21, when they were revealed as the cover stars of Vogue's upcoming April issue.
Shot by renowned photographer Annie Leibovitz, the mega-famous twosome posed for the style bible in high-fashion formalwear befitting a bride and groom-to-be. Kardashian, 33, looks almost ready to walk down the aisle in her light gray Lanvin gown, and West cuts a dapper figure in his dark-colored suit.
Not surprisingly, the stars' family and friends love the photo. Kardashian's mom, Kris Jenner, tweeted that it was "gorgeous," "amazing," and "stunning," while her BFF Brittny Gastineau referred to it as "next level." Vogue editor-in-chief Anna Wintour is proud of the shot, too; in her April editor's letter, she praised it as "both charming and touching."
Some readers feel differently. Within minutes of the big reveal, Twitter exploded with posts about the Kimye cover — and many of them were pretty critical. "If I had a Vogue subscription, I would have canceled it today," one user wrote.
Fellow Conde Nast publication Vanity Fair, meanwhile, poked fun at the magazine's cover line, #WorldsMostTalkedAboutCouple, tweeting, "Kim and Kanye land 'Vogue' cover, nearly upstaged by unwieldy hashtag."
