One thing we wouldn’t call the Kardashians is normal! But according to Kim Kardashian, although we might not realize it, that’s exactly what she and her family are.
The mom-of-one covers this week’s Adweek magazine, wearing a skintight, black latex dress as she poses for a cover story in which she reveals plans to become the “next tech superstar.”
But while her extraordinary life, and the constant social media updates about exactly that, is partly what keeps this Kardashian and her famous sisters in the spotlight, the reality TV star insists their day-to-day life is genuinely not that different from ours.
“I hope [viewers] get out of it that we are a normal family,” Kanye West‘s wife says of her hit TV show Keeping Up With the Kardashians, now in its tenth season. “They may not think we’re normal, [but] we are a family like everyone else’s that goes through so many different things and we’re always there to support each other,” she explains.
One way the five sisters and their social-media-savvy mom Kris Jenner very publicly support each other is via Twitter and Instagram — something this Kardashian has no plans of cutting back on in the future.
“I love sharing my world with people, so I don’t see me just having a freak-out and just stopping,” she says of her round-the-clock social updates. “Will I do it forever? I’m not sure.”
“You have to have a sense of humor every once in a while,” she continues. “So many people think that taking so many selfies is just ridiculous. For me, what’s so funny is I love taking pictures and posting them on social media for memories. I genuinely love the glam of life and hair and makeup and all of that, so I love just sharing my life with people — that’s who I’ve been,” she explains.
The focus of the cover feature is Kardashian’s move into the tech arena, with her hugely successful app. And with a desire to “have a bigger presence in the tech world,” Kardashian promises there are plans afoot keep the momentum going when it comes to her own game.
“I think that adding my family members [as characters] and a bunch of cameos will get people excited,” she reveals. “I love coming up with different app ideas, and I have a few more that are coming out,” she promises.
