There’s so much more to holiday dressing than red and shimmer — just ask Lucy Hale! For Shopbop’s #HolidayHowTo campaign, the Pretty Little Liars star broke down the best fashion trends of the 2016 season, putting her own spin on each in the process.
For instance, like all of Us (especially Lupita Nyong’o), Hale, 27, loves an ensemble she can twirl in, but she doesn’t limit that to skirts. “In a fringy top, you’re guaranteed to be the center of attention,” she told the site. “And it’s a blast to dance around in!”
The “You Look Good to Me” singer is also all in on the pajama trend that’s been spotted on Selena Gomez, Jessica Alba, Rihanna and dozens more. However, she has one rule for silky separates: Pair them with the right accessory. “The style is totally laid-back and easy, but looks put-together and chic,” she said. “Just add a really good shoe!” And she doesn’t just mean sky-high heels. “I’m always in flats,” Hale confessed. “They add an unexpected twist to dressy looks. Plus, they allow you to be on your feet all night.”
Last but not least, if you love red, but don’t want to look like a mini Mrs. Claus, Hale has a solution for you. “Red is definitely a very sexy color. I love a modern, tone-on-tone, slouchy take,” she explains (and models in the photo above with a chunky knit, culottes and fringed sandals). “It’s just… cool!”
