Do blondes really have more fun? Not according to Meghan Trainor!
The naturally blonde “No” singer, 22, debuted auburn-red hair on February 11. And while she confessed to Amazon’s Style Code Live that she’s never made such a dramatic change before, she doesn’t regret her decision one bit.

Hinting at the inspiration behind the change, the Grammy winner for Best New Artist told Style Code Live, “It goes with the new album, [Thank You],” which drops on May 13. She also noted, “We did it more brownish and auburn, and I took a selfie and it kind of blew up online.”
But there was a little hitch. “I noticed my filter made it more red than it was. And I was like, ‘Crap, y’all, we got to get this going! We got to make this red!'” she shared. “We saw how awesome [it was] and were like, ‘Why were you ever blonde?'”

And it doesn’t sound like she’ll be returning to her blonde locks any time soon! “I feel more intense, more confident, more sassy [as a redhead],” she said.
