Exciting news, you boo-tiful ghouls!
With Halloween just around the corner, and all the style madness that comes with it, Us Weekly is bringing you a treat sweeter than candy corn: YouTube beauty guru Michelle Phan has created three fabulously creepy DIY makeup videos just for Us!
“I love how anyone can go outside of their comfort zone to become whoever they want to be for just one night,” Phan, whose YouTube channel boasts more than 7 million subscribers, told Us. “It’s just makeup, it washes off!”
But first, you have to put it on! And Phan shows you exactly how in these exclusive videos, documenting the makeup empress creating three spook-tacular, TV-inspired looks: a True Blood vampire, an American Horror Story demon, and a Walking Dead zombie. Grab your foundation brush and get scary!
True Blood Vampire
No sparkly vampires here! Phan—whose first book, Make Up, is out Oct. 21—channels True Blood’s Pam for her first makeup look, a pale-skinned, blood-dripping design created with a thin layer of white face paint, black eye liner, deep red lipstick, some stage blood, and of course, faux fangs. Watch the video!
American Horror Story Demon
Ghosts are always creepy, but they’re even scarier when their eyes are blacked out a la American Horror Story’s ivory-skinned, eyeless demon. Phan flawlessly recreates the ghoul’s look, featured on the American Horror Story: Asylum posters, with five products: white face paint, white powder, black liquid eye liner, black liquid latex, and yes, moisturizer, because you’re going to want to keep your skin fresh under all of that. Watch the video!
The Walking Dead Zombie
Phan also brought The Walking Dead’s undead to life, looking every bit the blood-hungry zombie thanks to a combination of face paint, purple shadow, fake bood, and a mix of tissue paper with cotton balls for unbelievably realistic wounds. Watch the video!
