Paulina’s the beauty queen to rule them all! Miss Colombia Paulina Vega was crowned Miss Universe 2015. The 22-year-old beauty beat out runner-up Miss USA Nia Sanchez and finalists Miss Jamaica Kaci Fennell, Miss Ukraine Diana Harkusha, and Miss Netherlands Yasmin Verheijen.

The “Criminal” singer first danced on stage at age 3 and won loads of pageant trophies, which are now housed in a museum in Kentwood, Louisiana. “I found out what I’m supposed to do at an early age,” Spears has said.
During the Q&A portion of the competition, Vega impressed the judges when asked what she thinks women can learn from men. “I believe there’s still men that do believe in equality,” she said through a translator. “I believe that’s what women should learn from men.”

While Vega’s win was celebrated, many fans in the audience weren’t thrilled when Miss Jamaica came in fourth. In fact, an audible portion of the audience could be heard booing as the judges announced their decision.
Miss America contestants are a combination of beauty, brains and class, and the 2014 pageant, held in Atlantic City on Sunday, Sept. 15, featured 53 such women competing for the crown. Miss New York, Nina Davuluri, ultimately took home the crown, besting out Miss California, Miss Oklahoma, and Miss Florida for the coveted title
