Since 2007, Reese Witherspoon has taken a stand against domestic violence as Avon’s Global Ambassador & Honorary Chairman of the Avon Foundation for Women.
So, in honor of Monday being International Women’s Day, the married mom of two is celebrating the launch of the brand’s Empowerment Circle of Support Necklace, to raise funds for the Avon Speak Out Against Domestic Violence program.
“It’s a shocking reality that one in three women worldwide will experience violence in their lives. It’s an unacceptable truth that we must all work to change,” the actress, 35, said in a statement. “In recognition of International Women’s Day, I’m proud to support the Avon Speak Out Against Domestic Violence program and I encourage everyone to purchase, wear or give the Avon Empowerment Necklace to help raise awareness as well as vital money for domestic abuse support services.”
The silver jewelry won’t break the bank, either. At just $5, 100 percent of the proceeds (so, $3.71 per necklace) will be donated to programs dedicated to ending domestic violence against women.
