Classic style, remixed! Button-down shirts are a staple in nearly everyone’s wardrobe, and with good reason. The blouses can be layered with a blazer for a workplace-ready ensemble or worn over jeans for more casual occasions. Now, Hollywood starlets have found even more ways to style the timeless tops, making for a more playful look. Keep scrolling to see examples courtesy of Rosie Huntington-Whiteley, Jessica Alba and Rihanna.
Off the Shoulder
Huntington-Whiteley, 29, showed some shoulder in a strategically unbuttoned top at the CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund Fashion Show and Tea in Los Angeles on October 26. The Mad Max actress modeled a solid white Monse shirt tucked into a pair of high-waisted pinstriped pants with a WIDE belt and navy blue pumps.
As a Slip
Covering up: At the Valentino Spring/Summer 2017 show on October 2, Alba, 35, paired a light blue and white pinstriped, bell-sleeve button-down speckled with black feather motifs into a semi-sheer crimson midi skirt. She accessorized with a whole lot of leather, carrying a black Rockstud Medium Quilted Leather Chain Shoulder Bag and wearing Love Latch booties with five grommeted straps. “Feeling super-chic in this gorgeous Valentino look from Resort 2017,” she said in an October 2 Vogue post.
With a Denim Mini
Breaking all the rules. Rihanna’s white and gray striped top was longer than her mini skirt on October 18 in New York City. The “Love on the Brain” singer, 28, teamed her separates with a Louis Vuitton x Frank Gehry Twisted Box Bag and midnight blue velvet booties.
