Vintage goddess in the house!
Rumer Willis has been known to turn up the heat in daring outfits on the red carpet, but on the 20th season premiere of Dancing With the Stars on Monday, March 16, the Hollywood scion revealed another side—an extremely girlish (and agile!) dancer.
Willis, 26, who's partnered with pro Val Chmerkovskiy, stunned with a flawless foxtrot—and an equally lovely ensemble. Demi Moore and Bruce Willis' eldest child spun around the ballroom in a plunging, vintage-inspired dress, covered up the bodice and down the sleeves with crystals.
"Rumer wanted dusty rose, so we found the color and then custom-dyed all the fabrics used the same shade to match," costume designer Daniela Gschwendtner told Us Weekly. "There were five different fabrics used in the dress, including chiffon. Plus, we hand-sewed all the crystals."
Speaking of sparkle, the gems used were rose-hued Swarovski crystals, which, Gschwendtner noted, have never been used on a Dancing With the Stars costume before.
Accenting her femme style, Willis also requested sweet and sensual makeup. "Rumer wanted to look soft and beautiful, so I chose to incorporate the colors of her dress into the makeup look," DWTS' longtime makeup artist, Zena Shteysel, explained to Us.
Shteysel went on, "Rumer has the best eyes to play up, so I created a soft smokey eye with rose colors and a shimmery pink [by Makeup Geek] on the lid, which really made her green eyes pop."
The celeb makeup artist, who relies on the Z palette to keep her many shades in order, also used Stila's long-wearing Stay All Day Foundation & Concealer on Willis, as well as the brand's Convertible Color blush in "Peony" and Smudge Pot in "Black" for the competitor's cat-eye.
While the entire effect completely transformed Willis, Shteysel told Us, "Rumer is a very sexy and feminine woman already. She knew exactly how she wanted to look, so we made it happen!"
