Wedding day jitters? Not so for Amy Smart, who wed HGTV host Carter Oosterhouse September 10.
"I had always imaged I'd get married in the woods," the actress tells Us Weekly. "I felt so happy and at peace!"
The outdoor affair took place at the couple's 13-acre Traverse City, Michigan, farm in the groom's hometown and near Smart's parents' estate.
Escorted down the aisle by her father, John, 66, the Shameless actress looked radiant in a silk and ruffled chiffon Carolina Herrera wrap gown. The veil-free star wore white orchids in her hair and paired her platinum XIV Karats band with a platinum-and-diamond bracelet and a pair of earrings by Neil Lane (both worth $80,000).
"When I saw her, it was the most amazing moment of my life," Oosterhouse, 35, tells Us. "I teared up!"
Surrounded by 218 guests — including bridesmaid Ali Larter, 35 — the couple partied under a tent filled with vintage apothecary bottles and citrus-colored roses and zinnias. Local farms provided veggies for the heirloom-tomato salad and green beans paired with lamb and short ribs.
Before guests departed at 2 a.m., Oosterhouse recited a poem he penned for his bride. "It was so beautiful," Smart, 35, tells Us of the surprise gesture. "Every girl in the audience was like, 'I wish my man would do that!'"
