She may be known as the Black Swan, but Natalie Portman looked more like the white queen when the tied the knot with ballet dancer Benjamin Millepied in California’s Big Sur August 4.
The Academy Award winner donned an A-line white dress by Rodarte, the label run by Portman’s pals, sisters Laura and Kate Mulleavy, a source tells Us Weekly. Portman, 31, also wore flats, a veil and a floral crown.
Portman has been a fan of Rodarte for years, wearing the label at high-profile events like the 83rd Annual Academy Awards and the 20120 Venice Film Festival; The Harvard University graduate even interviewed the Mulleavy sisters for Interview magazine in 2008. Rodarte also designed Portman’s iconic tutu for Black Swan. Other A-list fans of the brand include Kirsten Dunst, 30, Emma Watson, 22, First Lady Michelle Obama, 48, Cate Blanchett, 43, and Keira Knightley, 27.
Guests at Portman and Millepied’s traditional Jewish ceremony included Home Alone actor Macaulay Culkin, 31, and businesswoman and socialite Ivanka Trump, 30. The newlyweds’ 14-month-old son, Aleph, was also present.
Portman and choreographer Millpied, 35, met in 2009 on the set of Black Swan. The couple announced their engagement and pregnancy in December 2010.
At the 84th Annual Academy Awards on February 26, 2012, Portman and Millepied debuted apparent wedding bands on the red carpet. The resolutely private couple wouldn’t comment, though their jeweler, Jamie Wolf, confirmed to Us: “I designed the rings worn by Benjamin Millepied and Natalie Portman . . . They were made with recycled platinum and conflict free diamonds.”
