Girl! Did you get lost on your way to the gym?
Shailene Woodley has been out and about promoting her latest film, White Bird in a Blizzard, in some bold ensembles, as is the actress’ M.O. But she debuted her riskiest accessory yet on the red carpet on Wednesday, Oct, 15: an extra-wide headband.
After wearing a silver, striped pantsuit to film The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Woodley, 22, slipped into a second suit (an open-backed vest and matching pants by Temperley London), patent oxfords, a dainty gold necklace, and the blue headpiece for the Manhattan White Bird screening. The cloth band, not unlike a sweatband we might don for a workout, helped the actress keep her newly lightened blonde hair slicked back, away from her face.
But while we were busy ogling her unexpected style, Divergent’s leading lady happily discussed the differences between making a big-budget blockbuster and a smaller indie film, like the one being screened that evening. “We did this movie in, I think, 19 days. It was really fast! We worked every hour of every day,” Woodley told Us Weekly at the Svedka-hosted event before heading to the after party at Louie & Chan. “But it’s really fun.”
“The thing about doing small movies like this is that nobody’s making money,” the Fault in Our Stars actress continued. “Nobody’s there for the glitz or the glamour. Everyone just loves the art of cinema and loves the art of filmmaking. So it doesn’t matter if you’re the actor, the executive producer, the director, or the transportation guy, you’re all there working towards the same goal.”
