‘Tis the season for all things merry and bright — and no one appreciates that more than the folks at Kate Spade New York! The label’s holiday 2016 collection includes the brand’s polished pieces with glitter-bombed (and yuletide-perfect) touches, and creative director Deborah Lloyd gave Stylish a sneak peek at the whole lineup inside the showroom. Every season, but especially this one, Lloyd sets out to “connect” with the Kate Spade New York girl. “I want to create pieces, clothes and bags that they just can’t wait to buy,” the exec tells Stylish. “They bring a smile into her life, and they make her feel really happy and good about herself.”
Those include the feather-accented Valerie Blazer, worn by Olivia Culpo as a dress, and the classic Leather Moto Jacket, seen on Emma Stone — two very different looks for two women with very unique senses of style. But Lloyd says that all the brand’s devotees share a few social qualities. “The Kate Spade girl is quick, she’s curious, she’s playful and she’s strong. You can spot her a mile off. She loves color, and she loves to smile,” she says. Sounds right to Us!
