Good genes run in this fam! Sofia Vergara‘s younger sister Sandra Vergara stunned on the red carpet of the 2014 Hamilton Behind the Camera Awards in L.A., on Sunday, Nov. 9, showcasing her good looks and svelte physique in a black dress.

The aspiring actress, 26, looked pretty and svelte in a black sleeveless gown with see-through panels and a mesh skirt that swept the carpet for the star-studded event. She swept her dark brunette dresses up in a classy undo and wore bright red lipstick to help her bold features pop.

Sandra, who is by blood Sofia’s first cousin, was adopted by the Modern Family star’s mother Margarita Vergara when she was a month old. In 2011, Sandra made her Hollywood big-screen debut in Fright Night, starring in the vampire horror-thriller opposite Colin Farrell. Two years later, she played Theresa Corazon in daytime soap The Bold and The Beautiful.

Sandra gave an interview to HuffPost in 2011 discussing her dynamic with her much-older, world-famous big sister, 42. “My relationship with Sofia is normal,” she mused. “She’s helped me out in a number of other things. She invited me to live with her in Los Angeles, and that’s where I started to take off and choose what I wanted to do — and for that I’m grateful to her for everything.”

Still, Sandra said she wanted to find success without relying on Sofia. “I did everything on my own, but it helps because it’s name recognition,” Sandra said of being a Vergara. “[Sofia] is beloved by the public, and so being related to someone who is so dear is a good thing. It wouldn’t be the case if my sister was Lindsay Lohan… There’s really not much anyone can do to help another person. For me, leveraging is a myth. She did it on her own. I’ll do it on my own. That’s how it is. As much as Sofia can say to someone, they have to be impressed by you. There’s too much competition, too many girls that are much prettier than I am. There are times when one could land a role by pure luck. And sometimes it’s the color of your hair or your height doesn’t work, and neither do you.”
